and just can't handle as well, it'* way to heavy
Isn't the GTI FWD? The G8 will handle just as good as the previous gen BMW M5. The Holden did in the Aussie reviews so i'm sure the G8 will be the same. It has RWD and near 50/50 weight distribution. Weight is an enemy for handling for sure but FWD is even more of an enemy in the handling department.

M5? A GM car built to a sub 30k price point isn't going to have the exact ride qualities of an E39 M5. The quality of the dampers, and the weight balance won't be quite the same. I love the GTO, and the G8 will be great, but I don't want or need such a large car.

HID, DSG gearbox, high reving turbo charged motor, a high quality interior, 20k for 1 year old? Sign me up! GTi'* can pickup the inside rear wheel in stock form when being tracked.

In theory, shouldn't FWD handle BETTER? More weight over driving wheels and what not?

I'd prefer a car that can keep all four tires on the pavement.

lol....most current cars wont out handle the previous gen M5 so I doubt a GM family sedan will either. My 745i blows away my previous GXP so I guess the germans know what they are doing.

The G8 is not a "family sedan" by traditional means.. or will be. As far as I know, the G8 and the 5 series are after similar traits. Why don't we wait to drive one before we condemn it as a bad handler, shall we?

Not a bad suggestion, John. I think everyone is basing comments on the Holden variant, which is virtually the same car, but I agree that I would like to drive one before I make up my mind about it.

LOL...GM finally makes a new car that can compete with a 5 year old car. Pricewise the G8 is gonna be a steal. I am still undecided...so far the only good handling american car I have driven has been the lincoln LS.
