Default wtf?

Me and some friends were talking at lunch today about our cars. One of my friends has a 2000 Mazda Miata, 4 banger of course, 5 speed, CAI, and some goofy sounding exhaust. Another one of my friends has a 1992 Chevy S10 Blazer 4 door 4x4, 4.3L, automatic. They were saying the Blazer beat the Miata in a race. WTF? Did I miss something? Since when is a Blazer faster than a Miata? I thought they were BSing me b/c I didn't see it. Neither of the guys that owns those cars were there so everyone was pretty much un-biased, and every said the Blazer was faster...

The 92-93 blazers with the Vortec 4.3 had the most powerful 4.3 made. They were 195hp versus the 165 of the 4.3 TBI and the 190 of the 4.3 SMPI of the newer blazers. My 92 with 150k could beat my buddies 98 Blazer ZR2 all day. His was faster 0-60 becsause of the gearing though. I never raced a miata so I dont know. They are light, but not very powerful. A CAI and fart can isnt going to do much for the Miata

Yeah, my dad'* 93 chevy *-10 with the 4.3L at 154K is pretty quick. I wouldn't doubt that in the end, the blazer would win.

Also, the Miata is terribly underpowered imo

I dunno what gearing it has, but wow. I figured it being a Matchbox car and all it'd be kinda quick.

Actually, the Hi-Po Vortech 4.3 out of a 95-97 S10 SS and a few lucky 4X4 Blazer S10'* had an underated 200 hp. They also had the "Ramjet" style intake instead of the T.B.I style.

Oh, I forgot about the Typhoon and Syclone. They packed a turbocharged and intercooled version of the 4.3-liter V6 that pumped out 280 horsepower and was hooked up to a Corvette'* automatic trans with AWD. Sweet rides!!
