Looking for Web Hosting advice..
Looking for a new host since those of us with 1and1 have reached the end of our free trial (although i don't think i've been charged yet..)
Looking at dreamhost for their HUGE numbers, but it does cost a little up front..
http://www.dreamhost.com/hosting.html
Anything on them, or other recommendations?

The only advice I can give is to go with a host that has been around for a while that is big. I've had nothing but problems with "penny hosts" including as far as dedicated servers by smaller companies.

I've been using godaddy.com for years, both for my old site and my new one (which still isn't ready cause I'm so freaking unmotivated.) I've experienced a total of maybe 1-2 hours downtime with them since 2003.

I'm on the 1&1 bandwagon too. They're EXCELLENT. Great fast speeds, unbelieveably cheap, tons of bandwidth, and outstanding customer service.
A good example would be that I experienced an outage that lasted about 30 hours and recieved an immidiate e-mail telling notifying me of it and that it would be fixed soon, I then recieved another e-mail explaining that they had a complete RAID failure on that server and they credited another month of hosting for free to make up for it. Now what other company would do that?
Stick with em. They're outstanding.
