Looking to buy a new car soon..
Ok a nice used one that would be "new" to me at least. I have had a lot of trouble with the Bonneville recently and have decided to trade it in. I have it narrowed down to 2 cars, a 99' Acura 3.5RL Loaded with Nav and every option available, or a 2001 Olds Aurora 4.0 with every option available. I am kind of leaning towards the Acura, I have never riden in such a nice car, and it has a 1 year warranty and the Aurora does not. Just wondering what peoples opinions were here at the site. Thanks, Brad

You may find a bit of biased towards the Olds on this site, however you cant beat Acura and its track record of having decent cars.
Best bang for the buck...I'd say Aurora, its conservatively styled over its previous generation model (see below) however the interior is pretty impeccable. Don't be deceieved by the 4.0L V8 in the 2nd gen, the car is pretty light (for its size), very revvy and delivers decent punch. It wont have the off the line grunt of the Bonneville, but its evenly distributed power across the board.
If you want even more biased opinions on the Aurora see www.auroraclubna.com
I prefer the new 3.5RL over a lot of cars on the road right now...so its a toss up.
Good luck with your choice.
( I hope you go Aurora hehe) what colour is the car?
Meh
Winner...lol

The Acura is a really nice White and drives better than anything that I have ever driven before. The Aurora is a Pewter/Tan color and ride and drives really nice too, the Acura just seems a little nicer. I am going back tomorrow to drive them both again. Thanks for the input!

Get the Acura.
It seems to me you like it more.
An acura board will say Acura, A Olds Board will say olds.
A japanese car board will say Acura, an American Car board will say olds.
Your Judgement call

Umm no brainy the mini Northstar vs. some V6... Go with Olds, a guy I know has one with the LX5 and everything on it but onstar and memory seat and dual auto climate and he loves it... He says it has punch with the 3.5L so I can only guess how loud the 4.0L will bark! Then agian I am biased but the Olds is a smooth operator and with the V8 and chrome wheels, you can't lose... Although the RL is a nice car get the Auroua!

The first gen is a bit slower then the 2nd gen, its just not a mechanically refined. It looks better IMO though.
A guy at my office has a 98 RL, its pretty nice...but a bit stale looking.
Either way, I look forward to reading the test drive results.

I have never driven either, but did own an Acura - a 94 Vigor. The ex took it with her. she kept it up to about 168,000 miles before trading it on an Audi A6. The only problem with it was the CD player needed a new motor at about 145K. Nothing broke on it. Scheduled maintenance was it. Scheduled maintenance was not cheap, but that'* all she needed.
If it were me, I'd drive them both, and the Olds would really have to stand out above for me to take a chance with the increased maintenance cost GMs tend to have. If the cars seemed equal, I'd buy the Acura.
