Default Online Tires

I'm planning on getting the Goodyear Assurance Triple Treads online. Does any one have any experience with online tire buying? do you have any recommended sites?

I'm on tirerack.com right now and they look pretty nice.

I have used Tire Rack 3 or 4 times without complaint.

My recommendation is a local tire wholesaler where I buy all of my tires. They also will ship out. You can check them out here - http://www.rhdtire.com/ Under the "contact us" link there is an 800 number where you can call and discuss your needs with them.

Same here. If you're buying on line, Tirerack is OK in my book. I usually read what other customers thought about the tire that I was buying. It'* nice to see the good, the bad, and the ugly about tires.

I used them when I had to get tires. The shop I went to was great! Especially since I could order the tires online, and drive to the shop to get them put on. I just wish I didn't have to get tires when I did (one blew out, the rest were crap) because I would have ordered the tires I wanted instead of what was in stock.

Most local tire places, if you bring in Tirerack.com'* price, will price match. Discount Tire does. The problem is, many place like Discount Tire may not have the particular tire you like in stock, which means you may have to wait for them to order them anyway.

Since you're in NY, going to the TireRack facility in South Bend isn't an option for you either, unfortunately. So if you order from TireRack.com, you'll just have to take them to a Discount Tire to have them mounted. It'* sort of a 6 of one, half dozen of another situation.

As to the tire itself, it is an excellent tire. I just wish it came in the next level up in speed rating. If it did, I'd have put that tire on my GTP over the Yokohama AVID V4s'* that I had on it.
