Default Long day with the integra...

So today the girlfriend and I had to head back to rochester from my parents in Binghamton because she had to work at 2:30. We left and got about 20 minutes away and I cracked the sunroof and smelled gas big time. Kinda freaked out cause the car had leaked gas when I bought it, but then I remembered that I had the heads and other parts from the red bonneville in my car, and the sunroof was just pulling the smell from then into the cabin.

So we get just past syracuse on 90 and stop to get food and gas at the first rest stop. We go in, and she waits for the food, and I go to fill the car up. As I get to the car, I REALLY smell gas. Kneel down and look under it and it'* kinda pouring out from under it (dripping at a steady pace) *Explativex3* so I go put gas in it, just enough to get home, then call my father. He'* with my mechanic picking up cars from the auction, and initially says he'll come up and get me with the truck and trailer and give me his car til mine is fixed. After some decisions and phone calls, the girlfriend gets the night off, so I turn around and drive all the way back home and right over to the mechanics. By the time I get there, I am leaving an almost solid line of gas when the car is driving. So we get it up and sure enough, the feed line has a hole in it and is pouring it out. thanksfully, 20 minutes later he has it patched with rubber line (just like the return line) and I am all set. So once again, I began my journey back to rochester, which this time was uneventful.

And all of this would have been avoided, except that Acura has the feed and return lines on BACKORDER. I've had all three lines (feed, return and vent) on order for a month and a half and still nothing. It'* only a little while before another portion of the line gives way. Figured that the only part of this car with rust on it is an important one. Almost required the bonneville to be put back on the road for the winter, but I think I'm good now.

but I do have to say, I still love my acura. 4 doors and 5 driver-selectable speeds.
