Little help here sign this petition
Now this has nothing to do with anything bonneville at all but is an issue all car enthusasits should be concerned about.
The petition is about the change in shock type being used on post may 2002 build MINI Coopers. BMW/MINI has had many complaints from US customers that the MINI Coopers ride is much to harsh and so instead of offering a softer ride option is going to make all the shocks but on new cars softer. All new MINI'* will have a thiner oil in the shocks making giving them a cushy less performance oriented ride. This is only happening for US market cars. No other market in the world will get this change. Just goes to show US consumers really are contaiminated by the Luxobarge SUV craze and to a lesser extent overly cushy luxo sedans.
The core of this issue is that a marketing dept. should not make the descions for an engineering company. This was a marketing/PR move to make a few US MINI consumers happy but has really pissed off all of the people who bought MINI'* because they handle so well.
Don't let a car company make blanket descions like this over riding what choice of options you want on your car.

I understand your concern.. but at the same time.. I"m assuming if they or the US consumers wants it or have enough complaint from a good deal of them.. they are doing it to please them as in the company'* point view.. it comes down to dollars and cents and how many they can sell. You mentioned they are not doing it to European models ( cause probably cause of lack of complaints ). Has the Mini'* forum board aware of this and signing the petition?

It has been posted on every MINI board I know of either by me or other people. Many people have also called in the MINI USA to complain to people in person. Enough people have called in to complain that the people working are starting to get a little pissed at us I think.

I know there are screenings in other areas too so if you go see the movie on the first night you are going to be surrounded.
The MINI handles better then almost every other car on the market now including multi hundred thousand dollar exotics. Seventy plus mph through the 600 foot slalom is nothing to snezze at.

U want people to sign this? what'* the point; Truly Azwed who will benefit from this? I don't own one, most people here don't either so why bother? Am I missing something? truly; I have no intention of bein' a "Smart ***" but I just don't understand why this bit of information would be important to non-BMW drivers,

Okay.. his intentions when posting this was to make everyone aware of an American trend towards softer riding cars, he most likely believes that if the influence from the marketing department can change how the engineers equip their vehicles then the same could be true for all car makers. I am not sure about the point of the petition and what it would solve or who you would send it to.
Also something to keep in mind, if you have to think to yourself, "Hmm am I being a smart ***?" chances are you are being one and your post will not aid any except letting people know your a smart ***.
