It'* an OS and it'* got more in it then you'll believe. 96 isn't bad at all, when just an UPDATE to Mac OS 10-10.2 is $130.....

Oh yeah, games are really only good on PC'*. Macs don't have nearly the hardware support for the newest Video cards (usually a generation behind) and most companies just don't write games for them... Not worth it to them.

Mac, yeah, but Lindows or Linux?? It allows you to write your own drivers for hardware, I suppose, if you're language savvy. I'm to lazy for that.

but i dont want all that extra crap it has like office and stuff but ill just have to live with it

is tigerdirect a pretty good place to buy from i know newegg is better but still are they good?

It won't have Office unless you buy it, for around $400. It'll just have Outlook Express, and IE 6.0.

You can get xp home for 99.00. I use MSDN for all my software from Microsoft so I havent priced any of the newer software lately...

XP home is a really good OS. In my experience and research, XP Pro is alot less buggy, but it should work well for you. Here'* my info center on XP:
