I need to upgrade.
Well, about an hour ago I found our old computer in our basement. So, I brought it up to my room and hooked it up. It doesn't have internet yet, but my brother has a router in his room, right next to mine. So, getting internet isn't a problem. But the problem I am having is that the computer is rather slow. I would only be using the computer for internet, windows media player, and AOL messager. What would be the cheapest way to speed it up so I don't have to wait for pages and stuff to upload? I don't want to spend much money, more like as little as possible. So, I don't want to upgrade anything I don't have to. Also, what are some programs that I can get rid of without hurting/ slowing down the computer? I know nothing about computers, so please try to use simple computer terms for me. If you have any good links or "how-to'*" I would like to see them. Thanks for the help.
