Default My visit to Vision World

I'm wearing my last pair of contacts, and have been for about 3 weeks. So today I decided to go buy some new ones. I generally don't like to go get them because the service there sucks IMO, at least the one by my house.

So I walk in and the place is busy, but one of the employees walks over to me right away (unusual for that store) and asks what I need. I tell him I need ot order some new contacts (one prescrition they carry, the other they need to order). He says he will be back over in a second to help me out.

So now at this point I am thinking maybe this place ain't so bad afterall. The guy came back over with 2 boxes of contacts. He looked up their price in his pricing guide and saud he would give them to me for $22 instead of the $27.xx they normally go for. I'm thinking great, I'll take a deal on them.

Now it starts to get wierd when he says I need to go to another store, about 10 minutes away to place the order for the other perscrition (I have one perscription for each eye). This was wierd becasue I have ordered them there 3 times before. So he wrote down the perscrition that I need to order and the phone number for the other store.

Now here is where the whole thing starts to bother me. When he walked back over he already had the contacts bagged up and ready to go. When I reached in my wallet to pay he looks at me and points towards the door and says something along the lines of "let me walk you out over here". So I put the wallet back in for a minutes and walk with him. We walk just outside the door (inside mini-mall location) and he says that it will be $22 for both boxes. That'* a hell of a deal since they are $27.xx each normally. So I go to pull out my cedit card and he asks if I have any cash. I say I only have credit right now and can't get cash anyways. After some him and hawing he says something along the lines of "just take them. I'm always here and next time you are around here you can stop by and take care of it". He turned and went back to help the other customers, and I got in my truck and drove away.

Not sure if I want to go back there again at all. What started out as a great visit turned somewhat uncomortable at the end. All I can think of is that the guy was trying to pocket the money from the sale. Not something I am cool with. So now I have 2 boxes of contacts at home that I feel bad about using, I don't want to go back to that place again, and I really don't knowif I should say anything to the manager of the store or what.

Did you check to verify that you got the right strength of contacts?

I'd say something, because of people like him, the price of items go up

Call the mgr, get his *** fired.

They'll probably take care of you for helping them out as well. I more than made it worthwhile for some customers after they helped me find someone stealing ****...

Report him. I'd rather know I did the right thing and was out the money.

Call his manager. Report what transpired and ask how you can make the situation right. You did nothing wrong, so far, but you have to live with yourself and you don't need that hanging over you.

My wife and I had a situation where we were only charged for two tables or the three that we took out of our local Target store. It was not until I was loading them up that I realized that she had only scanned two tables for $37.00 each. I went back and told the girl at the service desk what had happened and she looked at me and my wife like we were crazy (or strange). (this level of honesty, must not happen very often).

Needless to say, my wife and I left feeling that we did the right thing and did not have to feel bad about the whole situation.

We use these tables in our stained glass business each day, and I can assure you that each day it would have bugged me to know I had "stolen" one!

Good Luck talking with the Manager......
