Jury Duty
So the address on my drivers license is still pointing back to my Moms house in Dixon. I figure it'* better that way since I'm back there almost every weekend anyway so most of my mail goes there. This saves me from having to switch my address every time I move. I figured it would eventually come back to bite me. My mom just sent me a message saying I got a Jury Duty notice for Dixon. Greaaaat. Not only is it 100 mile drive from my house, but I'd have to take off work which I can't really afford.
Will they take being a broke college student with no time as an excuse you think?

Jury Duty really is a PITA. I didn't get compensation from work so I only made the $5/hr or whatever they pay for 2 weeks. The worse part is that I never even made it into the court room, because every single one plea bargained.

Just go in for the first "interview" acting as Christian right wing with no tolerance for anything but Levitical Law. You won't be asked back. I assure you.

Had a teacher suggest similar action. I've got to return the form within 5 days, had my mom fax it to me. We'll see how it goes, maybe I'll get lucky and won't even get called in.
