Default Junkyard run

Did a junkyard run last weekend, didn't find much of what I was actually looking for, but I did find some neat stuff.....and some stuff that shouldn't have been there.

66 or so Newport, 440 powered.
0405081128a.jpg
Late 30s/early 40s Buick, big old freshly painted inline-8
0405081130.jpg
79 Trans Am, 66 or 67 Eldorado, 67 Wildcat. What you can see of the Eldorado is about all of it that is left. Looks like it spent a lot of time underwater or half-buried in a mulch pile, most of the body was just RUSTED AWAY.
0405081147.jpg
Datsun 260 Z. Dunno who thought a 280 motor would be a good idea.

Modern stuff:
0405081117.jpg
Odd motor, diesel I-6 in an 84 Nissan Maxima WAGON. Just weird, but looks like it was running until it got hit.
0405081124.jpg
Rare car in the states, and beside, I just like the name!
0405081234.jpg
Mitsu Starion Turbo, in pretty good shape.
0405081153.jpg
Olds Achieva SCX. Great car, this one got thrashed on. Dang shame.
0405081149.jpg
Brian and I are still TICKED about this. 4 Porsche 914s, with another one out of pic. All in good shape, minor rust issues aside. Looks like the whole group came to the lot at the same time. And it'* a crusher lot, no chance of buying the cars out of it. Argh....
0405081155.jpg
Now maybe it'* just me, but is there a little geographic confusion here?

And of course, the obligatory Bonne....
0405081157.jpg
Of course, it'* white.....

BTW, the yellow 914 was minus motor, but from what was left, I could tell it was a 914-6!
Someone needs to get SKINNED.

I once sold the engine from one (high output quad four) for $1200 to some guy wanting to put it into a GP. Those W41 engines can bring big money. They are pretty much the highest HP engines that can be swapped in with minimal headache. Wouldn't mind having that badge either

Anyone ever drive a W41 equipped car? They are kick ***, no VVT, and have a excellent powerband. They also put shame to any stock Honda VTEC 4 popper, except for the one in the S2000 of course.

The Quad4 in general is a popular Fiero swap.
