computer problem

it could be several different things. A few things come to mind
1. RAM is defective.
2. Temperature is too high inside case. processor overheated. Computer shuts down to prevent damage.
3. Power Supply was too hot, restarted for the same reason.
4. Video card became too hot.
Either way it was heat related. What kind of computer do you have and do you have any more specs on it?

its a compaq and i figured it was heat and i have a feeling its my video card but its been fine for a while even while playing unreal 2004 this is the first time in a long while. everything else works fine.

Go buy a fan (or two) chop a hole in the side of the case, and start sucking the hot air out of the case
I would suggest using the fan(*) for the sucking part, or you might get a little light headed..

well i know compaq are bad but it was my first computer i bought on my own before i learned how to build one but i upgraded the stock power supply cuz well it sucked and it was weak and it has 2 fans i sucking in other sucking out and i also have a 120mm fan sucking air out and i had a 80mm for the video card but it feel apart os cant use it anymore.

sorry not laughing at you. I was reading this post when the same thing happened to me I just transfered my dvd burner to my other computer and forgot to turn my fans back on. Doh! I have 5 fans on my main computer cause that'* where i play World of Warcraft and it gets pretty hot.
