I think you guys were thinking different HP numbers, the differances between at the Crank and at the Wheel. most of the newer 4.0'* were rated for the 190 range, but like most cars the HP rating isn't the at the wheel rating. No, those 4.0'* aren't built for speed, but I had a mildly modded '95 Cherokee that in a straight line would hand many a L36 it'* ***.
The wife and I like Jeeps, I'm no expert, but after owning 7 different Jeeps (have 4 right now, see my sig) I've picked up a thing or two. Just a bit shy of 300,000 on one of them right now. They've been good to me and my wife, and we use them the way they were meant to be used.

you forgot STOCK 4.0 but then I never bought a Jeep for how fast it goes down the road, but how far it can go off road
