I test drove an 04 Cavalier last last night. Obviously it had the Ecotec. It seemed quite peppy for a little car, but still not my Bonnie!

The engine looks difficult to work on! The new ignition system used on the Ecotecs have no spark plug wires. It'* really geared toward maintenance free driving (other than oil changes). I looked for the oil filter and coulnd't locate it (will do more checking where it'* located today). The water pump and alternator look like they'd be a nightmare to change. Otherwise, wasn't a bad little car.

naw, it'* not related to the 130hp 1ZZ-FE or 180hp 2ZZ-GE 1.8L motors found in the Vibe. The Ecotec really is becoming a global engine across GM, from here in North America, to Europe, and abroad...
