Default 2005 GTO

So how about the '05 GTO. LS2 anyone? Sounds good to me.

Anybody heard anything about it? I hear something about a Diablo Predator?

Yep, 400hp. And the Diablo is supposed to add 30-50.

Once the wife (read:financial adviser) approves, I'm gonna get a black one.

I liked it I got to drive it at gm autoshow in motion you can feel that the 05 with the ls2 had a bit more under the hood compaired to the 04 I drove last year at the 2004 show.

What exactly is the Diablo? A mod or a version of the car?

they're still working on tuning the car, they havn't found all the ins and outs of the computer, id say 1-2 more months and you should be able to tune out MOST of the torque managment.

can you believe gm put so much torque managment in these cars, that some of the a4'* cant even peel out? most can, but some for some reason cant, and its been traced back to the computer. even the manuals, thanks to drive by wire, have a good amount of torque managment

what torque managment is (im sure most know) is a computer feature than pulls back alot of power at shifts, to save shock to the transmission. well now its much more aggressive, you dont even put down all your power in 1st gear. you put down most in 2nd, but stilll not all. its gm'* way of making the drivetrain live past warranty

what really sucks is the 06 GTO'* are using a completly different computer setup with much more advanced encryption that will be alot harder to crack. the 05'* was already completly different. gm may change it everyyear.

but otherwise the 05 gto is by far my favorite car, changes over 04 include

newer bosche abs system
6.0 ls2 (50more hp than last year)
completly new computer, now drive by wire instead of by cable
updates for m6 to hold more power
bigger front brakes
hood scoops
dual exit exhaust, new rear bumper
new colors
optional 18'*

im sure there'* more that i cant think of, check out ls1gto.com

all the small little glitches in the car are easily fixed by the aftermarket

05 GTO Kicksass. I wish it didnt have hood scoops so it would look like more of a sleeper.

Personally I like The CTS-V more now. Especially when this old guy showed me what his car can do at the light. I wish I was an old guy with a CTS-V

Yes hoodscoops can be deleted, but why would you wanna do that? I would paint ram air on them hahahaha. I think they add the right amount of 'tude! Oh and I want a non auto-cross Goat in Blue with blue leather 18inch wheels, hood scoops oh and the important Tremec 6spd, its a sweet ride. I sat in an 2004 GTO for an hour it was a sweet car... Now the dealer said he had it up past 135mph, (auto) and it was still pulling. Now think about 50 more hp LS2 wild!
