you are getting there Cody. you don't need a router though, and you might not need a hub/switch. Get an ethernet crossover cable and see if it works plugged directly into you ethernet jack on the computer. If you can't find any, I can send you one. If that doesn't work, then get a hub/switch. We will have to turn on internet connection sharing on your computer though, but we'll do that when the time comes.

So a hub/switch is different from a router? I thought they were the same?

I currently don't have the VP. I'm assuming the guy wants all criteria met before he comes out to install.
