Back to the hospital.....
On Tuesday this week, Stephanie had some very sharp pains in her chest. They were so bad that she almost dropped Peyton when they hit She said the pain was as bad as her labor pain
We went up to the Emergency Room to get her checked out. While we were waiting, the pain just stopped. It went from massive pain, to feeling like nothing ever happened. We waited around another 15 minutes for a doctor, but nobody came out, so we just decided to go home. We figured it was just a bad cramp and all was well :?
Well, all was well untill this morning. The pain came back about 7 AM right before I got home from work. She took a bath, took some Tylenol and nothing helped, so we once again went up to the ER and decided we were going to stay this time even if the pain goes away.
They get us in and they do all the normal tests and then do an ultrasound. Turns out that she has gall stones and she is going to need surgery to remove her gall bladder. I am now at home for the night ( worked last night and haven't slept yet.. called in tonight ), but we have been up at the hospital since 9:30 AM. The GI doctor was supposed to be in earlier today, but of course, he didn't make it and I just got a call from Steph saying that he won't even do his tests untill tomorrow afternoon Then, we have to wait for his test results before the surgeon can remove the gall bladder. The surgery is supposed to take about 1 - 2 hours and is a low risk operation. They will make four small cuts in her chest and insert a camera and some tools then remove the gall bladder through one of the small cuts. The surgeon says that she should be back to %100 within one week.
The worst part is that I can't be there for her tonight... she is in a freakin shared room that isn't even the size of our bedroom there is only her bed and a VERY uncomfortable chair for me to sit on. I have been awake about 30 hours now and am very tired, so a chair is not an option for me to sleep in right now. Her sister is up there with her for the night, and I will be back there first thing in the morning.
I will keep you guys updated whenever I can. HOPEFULLY all should be done and we will be home by Saturday afternoon
Please keep her in your thoughts / prayers
Thank you.

OW. I've passed a couple gall stones before. I was actually oddly enough IN a hospital when it happened and everyone looked at me like is he kidding? It was the most excruciating pain ever. I was sweating, couldn't sit up straight, couldn't barely talk, ugh, i know what she went through.
Good luck Steph, hope they getcha all fixed up quick.

Oh my goodness. I so wish I was closer, I'd come and watch the baby...or stay with her while you slept/worked...or to chase down the drs and nurses. Tell her we're thinking of her...and you be careful too Mister! As difficult as it is to rest during a crisis...remember you have to take care of yourself if you are going to be able to take care of others.
And yes, waiting is the hardest part. Hospitals and doctors...ugh. You really have to stay on top of them to make sure things get done and in the proper manner.
Hugs and kisses to you both...

Dittos to John.....I know what it is like to have gall stones. I have never had such pain in my life. My two attacks lasted for about 15 hours each.
Since then I have really started watching my diet and not eating late at night!
My sister had her gall bladder removed after a few attacks and said that her pain was worse then childbirth (2 kids).....
They went thru her belly button to to her surgery! No Scar!
Hope your wife recovers and you get your rest!
Both of you are in my prayers!
