I've never actually used them, but get a quote from them twice a year. Their rates are always double what I find anywhere else.

I like Progressive...great rates and excellent customer service.

I just switched to them, saving $500 a yr. I guess it depends on what state you are in as to them being the cheapest. In NJ insurance is horrible, so they are the cheapest next to NJ Man. Havent had any problems thus far, and the way you pay for it is nice, just if you like dealing with an agent you wont like them cause its all online or phone calls. I could care less as long as my bills are cheap.

I don't know much about Geico'* rates and such. I do know that I prefer to have an agent that I can walk into their office and slap them silly if they don't handle my business right. Actually my agent is also my boss and I would still like to slap him silly sometimes. Just check around and get quotes on the same coverages so you can compare apples to apples.

I like to have all my insurance combined into one company, for the multi-line discounts I get... and that way my home owner'*, both vehicles, and life insurance policies are all handled by one person. If I could get the same deal from Geico tho, the "no local agent" factor wouldn't bother me. I already bank thru ING Direct (best interest rates ANYWHERE), pay all my bills automatically or online, and deposit/withdraw checking account funds by ATM (almost never set foot in an actual bank). It'* the electronic age, man.

You definately don't want to be stuck with crappy limits like 10/20/10. I would never recommend lower than 25/50/50 for liablility.

I've never had experience with them as far as insuring my car, but the girl that recently hit my LTZ had them and I just got done dealing with that. In that experience, I have to say the girl on the phone was nice, but took a while to find the girl'* account (since it was in her parent'* name.) I got an appointment for 3 days later at the local claims shop, they looked at my car and wrote me a check right there. In that sense they are good at handling claims fast, but the girl mutilated my information... like my name (goeffery instead of geoffrey and we won't even begin on my last name) This is my experience with them, to which I can claim nothing negative.
