i was wondering...
what would happen if you got into a crash and your windshield broke before your airbags deployed? wouldn't that just suck?

95, the front windshield is made of tempered safety glass with a film sandwiched between the two glass layers. In the event that your windshiel broke, it would stay in one piece. You would probably find small slivers on the dash, but nothing major. The side and back windows are also tempered but not sandwiched. In the event that one of those were to break, they would produce very small (1/4 inch) pieces. There would be no large daggar like shards. The Federal Government mandated that all automotive glass be "safety glass".
No worries.

What if you were in a 60'* classic with no seatbelts, no padding, and a steel dash?
You would be dead...UNLESS...unless you hit a modern sheet metal car.

Yeah that reminds me when my dad was changing the shocks (not sure what to call them) of the back hatch of my brother'* 87 Firebird. Somehow he f***ed up and the whole window shattered, but it was in small 1/4 inch or so pieces. Not really sharp at all. Let'* just say my brother was not too happy.
