Default jet chip on malibu

my friend with the malibu has a question. hes posted it on a malibu forum, but . . . theres more knowledgeable people here.

so hes thinking about getting a jet chip stage 2, but someones told him that "eventually" the computer would learn to ignore/override it. how true is that?

anyone know of any other way to reprogram the pcm for the 3.5? no one seems to do it.

JET is real. Those ebay chips (resistors) are the ones that the PCM relearns.
