K guys I know if anywhere can help me it is here. I need to know if there is any way I can program a new transponder key for the immobilizer system in a 2006 toyota corolla WITHOUT going to the dealer. I have seen a few different ways of doing it but they seem to be for 2002 and older.

Is it true that with the 2006 you HAVE to use the toyota handhled scanner to program it? They want an hour to do it at 86$ an hour. I know that it is total BS that it takes an hour to program a key. I mean I have programmed keys on various different manufacturers and they are always simple and take no ore than 5 minutes.

Any advice.
