I've got an A-80. My dad bought it USED in 1983 (it was built in 1980). Currently it sits unused thanks to the MINT! harman/kardon HK330i I got at Goodwill for $10. Less wattage and "kick", but noticably better clarity out of the HK.

Sansui A-80, top; Nikko tuner, middle; (newer) Yamaha 5-CD changer, bottom:

I have a RCA to stereo mini plug cable and hook it up to my computer, so I can hook up MP3'* to this old equipment. Not the best being a digital source, but hey, it works and sounds great.

I've also got a mammoth Nikko system with pre-amp and giant equalizer in the living room. My mom bought that new in '83.

Wow, I am surprised so many people still have classic receivers.

And yes, you guys that got rid of them shouldn't have got rid of them, you should see the prices on eBay.

On the other hand, my Dad forgot he sold his Cerwin-Vegas to his friend a few years back. We did find some other neat stuff in the storage unit we haven't been to since 2004.

I wanna see some Tubes damnit!

Until them i'm unimpressed.

Our old Sansui finally bit the dust last year in the garage. The 20+ year old Kenwood Integrated Stereo Amplifier, with the matching FM/AM tuner downstairs is pretty much the bomb digity in chassis build quality.

Not like my new Onkyo is cheaply built, damn thing weighs over 50lbs..
