Pontiac Enthusiast Magazine - Intense Racing'* 9-Second GP
A week or so ago, I was in the grocery store and strolled by the magazine aisle. I usually don't bother looking too much as I have too many subscriptions already and little time to read them all. Anyway, a magazine caught my eye that I had never seen before, Pontiac Enthusiast.
Well, being somewhat of a Pontiac enthusiast myself, I stopped to glance the headlines. Top banner said "Inside Intense Racing'* 9-Second Turbo Grand Prix". Well, THAT stopped me. I bought the mag, Sept/Oct 2006, volume 12, issue 5, $4 U.*.
Great article on Scott Cook'* 9.64, @150 mph capable turbo powered '98 GP!!!! That car puts out almost 800 hp!!! Definitely worth a read for all those that haven't already heard of this on clubgp .com or 3800pro .com.
The magazine is great reading for enthusiasts, from cover to cover. There'* a feature of a '63 Bonneville a guy restored to pristine, multiple articles on other great Pontiac brands, whether restored, morphed, boosted, raced, or other. And an article for all those that have ever wondered how to get good info on their Pontiac. Pontiac Historical Services (PHS) specializes in documentation and auto literature and apparently have a site at phs-online .com.
Anyway, worth the $4 IMO. Check it out!
Disclaimer: This was only a posting by a Pontiac enthusiast and is not endorsed or sponsored by anyone other than the voices in my head. Read at your own risk. May increase your knowledge of and lust for Pontiacs and cause friends to realize you are hopeless (just as they always suspected). BC and the poster are not responsible if you find yourself suddenly waking up with another Pontiac title in your hand and trying to explain to your wife/friends/parents/significant other why you now have another car.

I have a subscription to the magazine. It'* been coming for a couple years now. It'* a well written publication, but tends to favor the GTO crowd.
There have been some good write-ups on the Firehawks, too.

Did you notice all he'* done to remove and reduce weight on it? Everything from removing all unnecessary interior (unnecessary for racing that is) items, to carbon fiber hood, to replacing all the glass with polycarbonate. That is a purpose-built racer, as it should be.

That ting is truly awesome. I've had several opportunities to see it run and always left awestruck. Unfortuantely he busted the subframe at the Pontiac Nationals, but he should have it back up and running in no time at all. Fortunately he kept it off the wall, and kept himself in one piece. The video is pretty scary...

All four cradle mounts sheared off on the first launch. This allowed the engine and tranny to drop about six inches, and left me full throttle with no steering. Glad I packed spare underwear.
Special thanks to Jason Farnsworth for the images.
