I hate people who do this
I've had 2 scam e-mails in the past week, the typical bank employee from another country who has millions in an account for you. I reply with bogus information to waste their time.
I just got this one this morning. These scammers really have an imagination. I'd really like to kick these people in the face.

I just saw a program that one of the scam artists that was doing work for the Nigerians felt bad when exposed and went to the victims he was working on and confessed on camera and said he wasn't going to do it anymore.
I can't believe that people are supposed to be so smart yet fall for crap like this.

Usually when scammers send these email blasts, they use parts of other email addresses.
Here at work, I used to recieve emails from others asking me to remove them from my emailing list when I never even heard of or sent anything to them which was indicative that someone was using part of my work addy.
These types of Inline predators are harder and harder to catch, and I think its a darn shame.

I usually don't reply to these, but I read about one guy who gave the guy fake information and played along all the way up until the very end, and then told the guy off. It was hilarious.
I agree though that they'll send more, since the day after I replied to the first one with bogus information, I got another one.
I also get tons of junk e-mail everyday. And the e-mail links they give to UNSUBSCRIBE turn out to be non-working emails, so I can NEVER unsubscribe. Crap like that should be illegal.

Unsubscribe links are really there to confirm you have a real e-mail address.
Spammers just send email to all of the name'* they can come up with through a program, if you hit unsubscribe, then you confirm it'* a real e-mail address.

Exactly! Someone brought that to my attention last week. I don't even try to unsubscribe anymore. I really can't though since I get 100s of junk e-mails every couple days.
Fake unsubscribe links should be illegal though. I'm pretty sure it is breaking some law. But it'* probably impossible to enforce it.

Anyone here listen to FreeBeer and Hotwings? They went after one of these guys once. They went along with it and ended up calling some guy in Nigeria. One of the guys was acting as the recipient, while the other was acting as his attorney. They were trying to get this guy to bark like a dog over the phone to consumate the deal. I think he finally hung up on them. It was great.
