I got stabbed
So I was doing some dishes at work today and for some retarded reason someone thought it'd be O.K. to put a vegetable knife in the silverware holder facing up. (They're only supposed to put silverware in there, nothing else.) So Me being oblivious to the danger here put my hand in the bucket to pull out some silverware to wash. The knife went between my middle finger and ring finger and sliced between the two right to the bone. It hurts pretty badly. The wierd thing is I have this gaping hole in my hand that I could probably fit a pen into, yet it didn't bleed. My hand'* freezing cold and throbbing, but no blood. I think I'm a freak. I think I'm going to wrap my hand, take some tylenol PM and call it a night. ugh. Stupid people!

Umm, yeah, report that to management. If you have to get medical assistance, it will probably be covered by workers comp, and if not, then the company should pick up your deductible...

Yeah... I probably would have seeked medical attention anyway. That way if it gets infected and goes any further, you can say u seeked medical attention immediately and they can't hold that on you. I've learned in this world, most people/company'* goal is to screw you over if they think they can.

They won't suture beyond six hours, so if you're within that time frame I'd march on over to the closest ER. If you have a health advisory line available, call for advice on tetanus if you're past the six hour mark.
As everyone else mentioned, make sure this gets reported.

report it to management!
i cant tell you how important that is. if ANYTHING happens and you havent reported it to management, its on you. but it was a work-related injury that happened while you were on the clock. fairly clear-cut to me, but its in their realm to fix it. and if you end up for one reason or another getting your hand infected, whos head to you want to bill on?

Reminds me of the time one of my coworkers cut her hand on scissors opening a bag of coffee for the coffee maker. We all had to take a 2 hour course on how to use scissors
