Well, if you hear a new noise, but dont know where it is coming from, first determine it is not coming from the engine or tranny. then ignore it, until the noise changes, and after a while, you will find out what it was

Examples of application:
My tempo starts making a funny rattling noise. i stick my head under the hood, determined it is in the drivebelt , probably alternator. it wasnt broke, so i didnt fix it. i figured i would change it when it broke, so they wouldnt give me crap about the lifetime warranty item exchange. i was driving down a main street, grinding away, when i hear a loud boom, and then the power steering died. so it finally broke. i coast into napa <imagine the chances of me being right there> and take a look. turns out the belt tensioner pully roached, and seperated, dropping the belt. i pulled the belt off, drove car over to parents place, and here i wait for paycheck, so i can start looking around for a new one. internet searches for the part are proving not very promising

btw, alternator is making noise too. i spun it freely, and it made squeeking noises :?

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. If you fix it, use bubble gum and duct tape.

well, i got the pulley off, to find that the back that held it onto the bearings sheared off. cant figure out why. i did find out that the belt was routed wrong, i have the guy that changed my engine last to thank for that. and i also found that the mount was spinning freely inside the bearings. i hope the new pulley includes the mounting plate, because i cant figure out how to get the rest off the bearings and stuff off :?

just killing time till the part comes in. i got another 3.5-4 hours
