Lounge For casual talk about things unrelated to General Motors. In other words, off-topic stuff. And anything else that does not fit Section Description.

I certainly don't deserve it.... but thank you!

Don't forget to head out to Phoenix, Sunday, one day only! See the amazing Bonneville swallow 15 ricers right before your eyes! Sunday, one day only! Be there!!

So I know that if I were present, this would have been one of those "We're almost there, lets just finish the damn thing so we can get rolling" kinda deals, had it been in a garage back home. Can I say the same about this project? Did Project Manager Bob pull through? I know he'* getting to be a geriatric, but I still have high hopes that he pushed Ben and Thomas to get the job done.

Heading back over to finish up. There is still a lot to do. Not sure why this is taking so long, but at this point, there is no need get sloppy. We are cleaning things thoroghly, and carefully plodding along. Timing was finished last night. I left the camera in my car (which Ben has driven to his place), so yesterday,* pics are not available, yet.

Depending on when he gets here, maybe I can load them quickly, so everyone can see some more progress. If not, then I will have to load later.

Watch out for those wires on the MLPS while you're in the engine bay, Ben

And take the cap off the bottle. It works better that way.

So I'm sitting at home, getting my first chance to relax for a little while before hitting the hay. The car is not finished yet, so Bob and I are heading over tomorrow afternoon to attempt to button things up. We need to monkey with the shift linkage to get everything to bolt up, and start it up to check for leaks after doing the rear cover gasket and main seal. My rear cover was messed up... 4 of the bolts were only finger tight when we disassembled, which seems to be the cause of the small oil leak before. We think some of the oil was leaking out of the rear cover but falling straight back into the oil pan, which kept me from knowing how bad the cover was tightened. I wonder how many other 3800s would be in this condition if the motor were pulled....

Those wheel bearings got slapped back together tonight, as per Pat'* advice passed along from his father. I'm really not sure if they'll work, but it'* worth a try. We'll let you all know the latest news when we get done tomorrow night.
