Which would have the greatest potential mod wise and $$$ wise.

I'm pretty sure I'm dreaming but you never know I could win the lottery.

I'd go with the G8 hands down.
Rear-wheel drive, 361 HP, and it looks wayyyy better.

As much as I like the GP GXP, I really do not trust that kinda power mated to the transmission it has. The G8 is unproven in the North American market, but based on the Holden thats been out forever in Australia, I'd put the money into the G8.

Default car

My experience has been don't buy any first year car. Let someone else work the bugs out. Until the reliability is proven.

Holden'* version has been on the road for a year now. Lots of things have probably already been worked out.

G8 all the way, but you might want to wait till they come out with the all wheel drive version. But maybe not. I see these things outselling almost every other car, so the aftermarket businuss would be stupid not to make mods for this thing

Quite frickin' true. I like to see at least three years without a major change in drivetrain and platform before even considering a particular model of vehicle.

GM'* recent history on AWD hasn't been good at all...it will require at least a decade of additional proofing before I would buy an AWD GM vehicle.

Good thing the G8 is not a real GM.

An AWD G8 is pretty doubtful. None of the related models have it yet, and with newer MPG standards coming...
