Time to say goodbye to the Bonne
Well it is a sad day, well not quite yet, but soon to be...but also a happy day too!
I just put down a deposit on a 2004 6 speed Impulse Blue Metalic GTO.
The car is in Pennsylvania so I will be taking a flight up there in a week or so to finalize the deal and pick up the car.
I have been saving up some money for a while now, as it was starting to feel about the time to move on to the car I have been wanting for about 6 years now and I finally deicded to pull the trigger.
As for my Bonneville...well honestly it is going to be the hardest car I have had to give up, as I have become so attached to the car after making it so unique and my own, that I was struggling to pull the trigger on a new car. Normally I would sell the car ahead of time, but since I found the car I wanted it made it impossible. Luckily one of my Dealerships I do work for is going to put my car on their lot and sell it for me, to help speed things up to free up some cash, and get more out of it for me. The Car is DEFINITELY worth full Retial price, as there is NOT a nicer bonneville than this one. Other than a few little scratches on the lower part of the front bumper, the car is flawless. The car has practically new tires, New window tint done less than a year ago, a brand new headliner, and after everything I did to it, it doesn't leak any water like all bonnevilles do! IThe leather nterior is beautiful, no cracks, wear marks, holes, etc.. It would be very hard to find one this nice anywhere.
I will be pulling the Custom Fender Well Intake off of it and selling it, as I figured someone would be interested in it eventually.
Anyways, just throwing it out there, so if anyone is intersted in buying my Bonneville let me know otherwise it is going to the dealer next week and you can deal through them after that
On to the GTO...
It is exactly what I have been wanting, so the wife gave me the go ahead since she knows I have been looking for a while now and have always wanted to get a GTO. I had originally thrown around getting a 04-06 CTS-V, however they are roughly $5-7k more and that is just on the low end, and since I have already made the mistake and got something other than what I originally wanted in the past (back in 2005 I wanted to pick up a GTO, but ended up getting my Trans Am instead) I knew that I needed to stick with getting what I really wanted.
It is the color combo I have wanted, Impulse Blue exterior, Blue/Black Interior and I wanted a 6 speed again, as I miss driving one. It also has fairly low miles (59k) which is what I really wanted to find. I didn't want to buy from a dealer either, as you don't know any history on the car. This car is on it'* second owner right now and he has only put roughly 10k miles on the car in the past year, and I have all the history/info on the car which is nice to know.
To make things more fun, the car also has Port and Polished 243 heads, a K&N Air Intake, JBA Headers, and a Texas Speed 224R cam...along with some nice 18" ROH Drift Rims to make it look even better.
So...now the countdown begins, a deposit is, well, a deposit and the car isn't technically mine until I have the keys in hand, so until that happens I have to be calm and patient and hope everything goes as planned.
Once I have the plane ticket purchased though, there is no turning back!
Will update with some pictures once I get the car.

If I had more time I would take the headlights/tail lights off the car and swap them for a nice factory set, plus a little cash..but I don't think there will be any time for that.
I am really having a hard time letting it go, I feel like I am cheating on it with another car and that she thinks I don't love her anymore...I know sad right?
I am going to be taking the intake and Halos, LED'* and GXP spoiler off this weekend. Going to put the stock spoiler back on and stock intake back in. Going to sell the GXP spoiler in it'* current Gold mist color, or I can have it painted to whatever color the buyer needs for an extra charge. Not sure what I want for it yet but if I have any interest I will come up with a number.
The other thing that I feel a little guilty about is the fact that I am getting rid of a AMAZING car that has been problem free the entire time I have owned it (other than a few small common repairs) and moving to a Car that is Modded and might not be so reliable..which scares me a little, but that is the chance you take when you buy a car like that.
So much of my time and customization has gone into the Bonne, from appearance, to designing a FWI for it and then selling them to many happy buyers, and even to gutting the whole interior and fixing any water leaks, putting a new headliner in myself, etc..Even putting the shift kit in the transmission, and the Ported exhaust manifold..every little thing is just more time spent working on the car. I haven't "bonded" with a car this much ever..and I have had 10+ cars in my years for driving this far. I also haven't bonded with a car forum as much as I have here, everyone on here is great and has been so helpful when I needed something.
I can only hope she goes to a good home that appreciates the car as much as I do, and what has been done to it to make it stand out and look good, and that they take really good care of her like I have..after the car is sold I will feel better I am sure (hey who doesn't feel better with a bunch of cash in their pocket?) but until it is, it feels kind of sad neglecting the car and forcing her to go to the dealer and sit outside in the elements lol.
Wish me luck and selling it quickly and to a deserving buyer!

Oh and here is couple pictures of the GTO..I will obviously do a nice photo session once I get her, but to hold you over until then...
Already have several things planned..first thing that will be done within a week or two is going to be 15% tint all around of course and HID'*. And after that who knows, my imagination can do the rest..and I know how my imagination is, the bonne out in the garage is current proof lol

One for old time sake: Am I an idiot for giving this car up? I keep feeling like I am..
