Anyone familiar with the GM 5.7L?

Default Anyone familiar with the GM 5.7L?

I'd like to take off the TB, but no matter what I unscrew, it won't come off. There'* this bolt sticking out that had the twisty thing on it, but even with the twisty thing off, I can't get it off! What do I have to do? Thanks in advance!

After you take the twisty thing off, you need to take the stud off that the twisty thing was twisted onto. I think it'* a 5.5mm socket.

edit: Maybe a 10 or 8 mm deep well. I don't recall as they are different from the 5.7 to the 4.3 and I can't remember which is which. Should be one of the three though.

If it'* the 5.5mm, then the hex is at the top of the stud and you don't need a deep well. If it'* 8 or 10mm then the hex is at the base of the stud and you will need a deep well.

Is this TBI or more recent fuel injection?

Good question, the way he described the "twisty thing" I assumed its a newer model.

edit: What year is it?
