With how much busted Xboxes are going for because of mod potential, and ease, you might be able to get rid of it and pay for a new one.

With what you are saying I would say it is nothing you can fix. Maybe someone would be able to. Maybe check out a few x-box forums and ask there. Only thing to remember is that alot of those people can be real A$$holes. That is why I just search on those forums and try to NOT post anything, hehe.
How old is the xbox?? Since you talked about voiding the warranty.
You can probably even get another box for a half decent price too.

Do you wrap the cords up on your controllers? If so I know the issue with that (I used to work at EB Games)....

its the original, if you remmeber way back about 4 years ago when taco bell was having a contest where every store was giving away an xbox, well i won it from that. the stupid woman didnt give me an entry form with my meal, and the pack was sitting right there, so i took them all. 62 entries! i won needless to say, and now i have my ancient ghetto taco bell xbox!
