Did your lamp monitor ever tell you that you had a bulb burned out?

Was this before or after you disabled your DRL'*. Just curious. Because from my CATZ hid kiit they said this would be the problem if you have DRL'* and install the HID'*.

fuddyduddy: It doesnt have a lamp monitor, so I don't know.
Roadrash: It was before the DRL was disabled. It would happen on really cold winter days when the car was starting. If the manufacturer says dont use it with DRL, then I'd listen to what they say. Mine said nothing about any problems with it.

SLE'* from when they first came out through '99 don't have the computer DIC. They have the dashboard and interior of an SE. I don't think they come with Electonic Load Leveling either until '00.

I had read that the problem is that they only have a life of 2000 hours or so, thus with DRLs they'd burn out in a very short period of time; though there may be other issues too.

Well.. i think the DRL is a resistor that does drop the voltage to your headlights and so I think that maybe why one of them don't turn on in winter? I thought yours would have the headlight sensor like mine would.. if you have a lil car ( Drivers information thingie ) you should have it since mine will ding and show headlight problems in my 97 when I activate the headlight kill switch.

Reread my post. One of them will not turn on because when the car would start the voltage would take a dip, this would cause a ballast to stay off. There are no conflicts betweeen DRL and my headlights.
Hailey: A standard Halogen bulb should last about 3 yrs if your headlights are on 2 hrs a day. HID'* last 5yrs with the same amount of use.

Yeah but with my HIDs I never noticed them being dimmer with DRL. HIDs only run at 30 some watts, where Halogens are twice that.
