Suppose to get the GXP back tomorrow or Tuesday if the body shop gets it done on time.

Been driving a Chevy Captiva the last week. Handles nice, rides smooth, no noticeable body roll, but the engine can't maintain cruise control on hills worth crap. As a note this SUV isn't even available new to the normal consumer. Can only be ordered new from the GM Fleet program or in the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. Something tells me it doesn't meet EPA standards

The Chevy Captiva is a 4 cyl 6 spd auto, 28mpg rating and I think 4 cylinders overall can have problems with cruise. Maybe just dont gear down quickly enough,(more like bog out) but I wonder if there is better programming/instruction, possibly available for helping to maintain speed better...
I bet you are looking forward to gettin your GXP back!

It doesn't get nowhere near 28mpg, I averaged 20-21 on the highway. Also my 2.0L Mitsubishi Lancer had no problem whatsoever on the same road (and it was loaded with 740 pounds of my stuff because I was PCS-ing!)

i hate those little suv'* they all get crap mileage no where near their claimed mileage. its a heavy brick, i cant belive that anyone believes the ratings. i have never heard of any of them getting more than 22, that was a 3.4 equinox. still awful with an engine i got 34-38mpg from in my old monte. and i am sure i could fit the same amount of stuff in it
