We're getting that system that just passed you guys. Latest forecast said up to a foot of snow and pretty bad wind. To make it worse, there'* rolling blackouts in effect all over the island to keep up with "supply and demand" or something like that. Luckily, my power was out this morning while I was at work.

No idea. That was the excuse I've been seeing on facebook/twitter. Never really cared enough to look into it more. I think it'* just to get people to put down their fancy electronics and toys they got for christmas and actually socialize

Ya sorry to hear about the snow & cold snap there folks.....
I think regarding the power that they were asking not to use the large appliances during prime time 4-8pm. Not using your clothes dryer can I suppose help the grid alone.
We are green no snow, but below freezing and clear for now....
Where are the winter pictures?? Please show us those condition you are facing!

my internet has been down for the last day or so. going through withdrawal. the weather has sucked here too but only had to go out yesterday once in the morning to snow blow the drive so the wife could get out to go to work. the rest of the day i spent inside stoking the wood furnace. normally i can only run it for a few hours before everybody is too hot, i ran it all day and put another load in it before i went to bed. my primary fuel is oil but thats expensive. the wood is much cheaper when i am around to run it. pine is not a good fuel for the house by the way its super hot but only lasts a few minutes
