John, I know 4 people with the Chevy Venture. They all love it. Since they're older, they'll appreciate the entry height, and the Engine is reliable and a proven performer.

The Monatana should be very similar, but I'm not sure if it gets the same motor. That motor is time-tested and proven. For me, the motor is 50% of the decision.

Well I've driven a few montanas now and did drive the dodge minivan for years. There is no comparison. Montana is great. I was towing a comper trailer with it and still had plenty of power to pass. Plus they are pretty good on gas too. Driving highway speeds, the thing is only at around 1500 rpms.

I noticied a vote for the Kia......watch out. I don't know if it'* still the case, but I know for awhile some finance companys were refusing to finance Kia'* because of their bad performance in crashes. My neighbor was ejected through her windshield in a 40 mph crash WITH the seatbelt on. That was 3 years ago, but I don't forget things like that too easily. I'll remember the Kia scars for a long time yet. Permanent bias.

Easy, Chevy Venture. My grandparents own one and its great for family trips. Good engine, nice creature comforts, and reliable. Look at me, I sound like a salesman!

Thanks for the imput! For the idea of a Chevy Trailblazer, they want a van because better gas milage with just enough towing capibility to tow a small boat. I think whoever voted for the Kia was voting for the safety! It has 5-star crash test in every catagory. They actually have been steering away from the Chevy/Pontiac vans because of some of there crash tests. They do like the styling of the Pontiac coupled with all-wheel-drive. The Pontiac Does have the same engine as the Chevy Venture. For the Aerostar idea, I have a 1995 Ford Aerostar, and if they still made them I think they might have gotten one! That 4.3 is the king of van motors. I've owned three of them. Not in the astro, but in a full size chevy truck, an s10 blazer, and a ski boat. Amazing motors. Too bad they didn't adapt it for the FWD vans, eh?

One of my friends moms has a Venture and they ride and have power like none other, but I worked at a Chrysler dealership and those Grand Caravans are pretty damn nice.
