Stereo Reciver Problem
my mom and dads 8 year old Technics Reciver is giving us trouble. Its worked great ever since we bought it, but last night it acted up
With Speakers A OR B or AandB turned on at any volume there is a light on the reciver that says "LOW IMP". The speakers kinda cut in and out..i changed the wire..problem still is there.
With the speakers A and B off and headphones plugged in and on..after a few minutes ether the right or left floor standing speaker will come on and blast immidently at the current volume.
My dad took the shell off the Reciver and we cleaned it out..suprisingly it was immaculate in there, as it has an automatic cooling fan to circulate air as needed, which still works, it kicks in at 1/4 volume.
Any ideas?

These speakers were hooked up to there Technics Reciver for 8 years no problem.

Your reciever could be shorting out somewhere. You may have something briding your positive and negative connections.
My first sub box i ever had was a prefabbed one, and when i used the connection box on the side, it would cut out the amp. Wired up directly to the sub, it was fine. So slapped a new box in the side and went on.
Your amp is crossing somewhere. could be internally, on the posts, inside the cable.
Try new cables, different speakers, etc. If swapping does nothing, you'r amp section may be fried. :?
