Need some help
I'll be repainting the valve cover and engine soon and need help finding the correct paint. The engine is a 1981 Iron Duke and the color is Pontiac Blue (or at least, that'* what I've been told). What should I use to paint the block and what should I use to paint the valve cover? Or are they both the same?

Both use the same paint. The entire engine, minus some accessories, was painted as an assembly at the factory. Krylon made or makes Pontiac Engine Blue, but I have no idea if it is accurate or not, nor what prep you'd have to do to get it to adhere. It may be an actual AMC color instead, too.

Here'* something that might help: Pontiac engine colors
http://fiedlerh.home.att.net/enginecolor.htm
Wait, nevermind. Found this:

You want Ditzler(PPG) #15159.
On the other hand, the block and head may never have been painted at all. My grandparents had a 79 or 80 Concord, and it was bare metal, with a silver painted valve cover. That was a 258 though, AMC may have realized it was a bad idea to paint a motor that owners would be hitting with a sledgehammer after having to change the distributor cap every time it rained.
