Default I must say...

I'm not exactly happy with HPTuners right now. On the 21st of Feb, I spent $500 on a tuning kit. They claim, it takes 3-5 business days to "complete" an order. Come to find out, it takes them 3-5 business days to ASSEMBLE an order. As in, solder everything to the circuit board. Then, they ship it out, and depend upon UPS to email you the tracking information.

Today, I quoted their 3-5 business day processing and emailed them inquiring about the status of my order. The reply I got back was...

We have received some units from production and a lot is shipping today.
Well, that tells me alot. Is my order in that batch?

Apparently, I am not the only one that feels HPTuners could learn some basic business practices. For example. KEEP CUSTOMERS IN THE LOOP. BASIC COMMUNICATION. HELLO?!

If someone emails asking about an order, the company should at LEAST be able to say, yes, we have your order in the system, it is on Hannibals workbench, it should be completed in 2 hours, then be shipped tomorrow.
I'm sure they could afford a cheap internal order tracking software.

Another thing I have seen. If someone orders from a reseller, such as SummitRacing, 3800Performance, etc etc, from the time of order, to day of delivery, average, 3-4 days.

Ok, I'm done ranting now.

unfortunately you find that alot more lately, apparently it coasts too much to store stuff in a warehouse. i would disagree though if i deal with a company thats too slow i dont deal with them anymore so where are they going to be when they have no orders to make?

A few years ago, I ordered a cheap computer part from Newegg. It was about 8am in the morning, I paid for it, and went to work. About 3PM, I check my email and they sent me a msg saying my order was complete and it had the UPS tracking # in it already. WTF? Normally, I have to ask for this stuff. But, they were on the ball.

I guess it depends upon how much you spend. A $10 computer part yielded me good customer/communication service, but a $500 item gets me virtually nothing.

Warehouse? I think these things are made in house, in batches. But why batches? Are there pros and cons when it comes to shipping on a order by order basis? I don't see any. The only con I see is, it makes the customer wait. And customers don't like waiting. On HP'* forum, I see lots of people complaining about the shipping, but they don't even try to come up with an excuse or anything.

That is a very good question.

I had problem with one seller in Ohio he chose to lie and blame ebay and paypal instead of oh shoot we goofed up. I will not use anyone in Ohio again if I can find part anywhere else. the usps is the biggest delay taking a week to ten days an a few two weeks for delivery, not the dealers fault, so I get pissed at the usps for not doing a better job.course it goes back to real public cons gutting every gov. office to make gov agencies look bad.

According to UPS'* website, it should be delivered today.

It'* funny though, when I was stationed at Ft Drum and if I was due a delivery, I would actually go chase down UPS and get it. The driver got use to me after a couple deliveries.

I ordered directly from HP. I have noticed from the HP forum, that if people order from a vendor, they get it in about 4 days, vs the 8 or 9 days straight from HP.

Give them a break on the poorness so far. I've had quite a few dealings with Bill and Chris on the technical side and they are amazing for turn around. I swear those guys work 24/7 365. I've had responses on Sunday afternoons/nights etc.
