I just got back from my parents' house and blowing stuff up. Had a bunch of rockets and mortars left over from New Years. Shot off about 90% of those plus some new stuff. Mom has some butterfly-shaped helicopter thingies. She just about killed my cousin'* girlfriend trying out an idea about tying three of them together. It missed her by about a foot!
My Dad has this old grille that'* mad of massively thick steel, and I was throwing mortar rounds under it. They'd lift the thing about a foot off the ground with a blinding flash underneath. I'd lift the thing up and a huge cloud of smoke would come out...

We were also throwing firecrackers at each other, just little Black Cats. Shooting the bottle rockets into puddles was fun too. They go off under water with a "thump" and then these little white bubbles come up, and burst with a little puff of smoke

At the end of the night, I set off a box that was prttey cool, it start by sending up a ring of fire balls, then a ring of reports, then a ring of silver tails with reports, then a ring of fountains with cracklers. Way fun night, and now I'm totally shagged out, G'night!

"....if your parents shoot fireworks at you ...you might be a redneck. "

I spent the day with my Canadia buds, Brianj & Lisa, and my new American-Canadia bud, Phoenix (Darren). We started out eating at the now famous Gordy Harper'* for brunch, followed by a Niagara Wine Trail run (only made it to four winery'*)...discovered some cool places for future car meets/drives/pics (and good wine, of course).

Phoenix met up with us in Olcott and got some cool pics on "the beach spot" at Lake Ontario, and he brought a portable gas grill, burgers, weeners, and pop! Then it was on to my house so Brianj could wash his rims...then onto Darren'* to see his dad'* 39 Buick, then onto see the Lewiston Fireworks....everyone is allowed to pull off the road illegally on the Robert Moses Parkway to watch... way cool day.

Lisa says, "...this was my BEST 4th of July ever!!"....but then added, "...of course, I am Canadian...so this was my first..."

Definitely was a great way to spend the holiday!
