Buick..this is old news. We saw stuff about this back before the ONBF meet.
They have a serious issue and are trying to get a grasp on it. After driving there and not actually seeing street racing.... I'd say their normal driving style is dangerous, can't quite imagine what they call racing.

That has been ongoing for some time now. There was a petition started in 2002 to try to get a drag strip closer to Toronto to try and reduce the amount of street racing. That petition is still ongoing.
The 3 cars that have been involved the most in street racing were:
Honda Civic
Acura Integra
Some European car that I can't remember, something like an Eclipse.

Could they seize a car from a visiting American though? And send them on a bus ride back home?
Good to know for those visiting, but I don't see how they could do that.
They say they will seize cars that are MODIFIED – so are they just catching people in the act of street racing and taking their cars? Or are the cops roaming the streets looking for riced out cars and ASSUMING they are modified for street racing?

I think the biggest problem we are having in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) is that people are unfortunately getting killed as a result of these so called "Street Racing". As I'm sure a lot of areas have heavily modified cars. I've witness several cars on a dyno pulling well over 600 rwhp. That'* close to 800 BHP. Why the hell do you need that much HP for the street? I remember driving a Boss 302, and a LT1 Camaro amoung many other cars, which were both modified (in my younger years) and when I let them go, its was both a combination of the addrenalin rush and pure fear. When you let an 800 HP car go at any speed, once you loose control of your vehicle it takes a tremendous amount of skill to prevent a catastrophe.
Sorry for the vent.

+1 reason why I have zero emotional attachment to this car.

Being from New York City (ricer central) Oldsman and I know some borderline ricers. We have come to the conclusion that, "They know just enough about cars to be dangerous". They are not afraid to go into their engines and start tearing things out, but they do this based solely on hearsay and assumptions.

These cars listed about are capable 12 second cars. I can't believe how much money they have in them.
