Guess who?
For those that noticed my absence, I came out of retirement to totally rewire a friend'* Plaza of 8 stores. 30,000 sq ft of retail, manufacturing with an additional 3 stores and some warehouse space to be done next spring. The entire Plaza was under 6 feet of water during a recent flood and was completely gutted and redone. For me that has involved all new electric service mains, lights, outlets, even data cable.
Here'* a pic of a section of the Plaza under water from one of Store owners and a link to their album of the flood, the surrounding area, and alot of the damage.

Welcome back!
Was that flooding due to Irene or Lee? I know this area, and south of here got hit really hard. The rivers totally overwhelmed Binghamton and the area with record damage there. (Which isn't all that far from here). We still have a lot of roads closed or being rebuilt because of all that. I know PA, where the Susquehanna flows through, south of the Binghamton area was also hit really hard. Tough thing to go through, 2 record floods in 5 years.
That must have been a ton of work. I relocated after the one in 06, but friends of mine that lived down the street from me then are having to rebuild their house all over again.

It was a combination of both storms. Irene left the ground saturated and the Susquehanna River at spring runoff levels when normally you could walk across it in many places. Lee dumped more rain than Irene without the wind and the Susquehanna hit 30 feet deep. It topped just over the 70 year old flood wall and it'* amazing it held. Or it would have been x10 the damage and alot of deaths. I've got about 2 weeks of work left as I wait for finishing touchs and painting to complete.
