Yeah... They are nice vise grips... But still...
I popped off the valve cover to clean it and find out where all that oil was coming from, There was no gasket... RTV to the rescue. Cleaned a bunch of stuff, It looks okay. Cleaned out the TB, and it made the car idle really high. I waited a second just figuring maybe it would correct itself, It didn't. I could adjust it low enough to give it that "I'm a $10 car" idle but I think I found it'* sweet spot. This thing is held together with about 4 bolts. Really easy to work on.
I found that exhaust leak too, The manifold cracked in half. Clean in half. Now I just have to find a performance one and see if I want to buy it or a stock one for $25.

The SR5 is the base version of the coupe... either the 4A-F (carbie) or the 4A-FE, not quite sure...
GT-* is the coupe also, yeah, my dad'* one looked exactly like this, just without the hood scoop...
SR5 looks the same, but without any skirtage.
Handled uber-well, but the tranny gearing made for 3000rpm at 60mph in 5th

Nothing specifically hard to find, are they older boxy models (5M-GE), or newer, rounded boxes (7M-GE, it'll say right on the timing belt cover)?
No GT-* sedan unfortunately, but I'm not quite 100% sure as to what motor is in the "Corolla SE" sedans that I see around sometimes. Might be the 4A-GE, I dunno.
There is an AWD version of the AE92 sedan. A Cressida bloke who had one wanted to put a 4A-GE in, but couldn't because of the differing 4A-FE block to accomodate the transfer case. So he ended up putting the GE head on the FE block (and sorted out the wiring nightmare). Not too good of a solution, unfortunately, there were minimal power gains
