Oh, ok, Thats why I said it just looks like a regular v6 Bird, then someone jumped on my case for calling it a v6. Then I thought the Ws6 was the engine configuration or something. ohweeee

Yeah, the V 6 wouldn't have the Ram Air hood that the first one has...so I know it isn't a V 6 bird...but whether it is a standard TransAm or a WS6...who knows?

While I agree that the GTO will never match the Firebird for aggressive looks or pure performance, I must say that it was never INTENDED to. The GTO is a MUSCLE car, NOT a pony car.
On the other hand, I've driven Ws6'*, Firehawks, TAs, and even heavily modded V6 Fb'*, and I think that the driving position of the last-gen Fb DESTROYS the drivability of the car.
You can't see the road ahead very well because of the rake of the windshield, you can't see stop-lights unless you're well back from the stop-line, and the belt-line is so high that you CANNOT rest your arm in the window at all.
I think the GTO looks like a much more drivable car, with the power of the Fb, but w/out the drawbacks of such an aggressive body-style.
