and that'* why i've got a tried and true 3800

those are some serious horror stories.. I must say i'd be really pissed if that happened to me, however i'd be able to do the work myself.. but that'* still very uncalled for.

The gasket problem on the 3400 and 3100 can be fixed easily by any dealer or shop. Once that is fixed, the engine is fine.

go for the GA/Alero. I've heard about how ***** slow* the V6 models are, even with their 200hp. Ah, and the 2.7L V6 has serious sludge problems, I also hear.

But if it'* transparent that there is an issue and you don't find out until your cam snaps in half, it'* a little too late!!

Well, the best way to do it is, go take to a good mechanic and get it inspected for any leaks and signs of wear before it is bought.

Really? Hmm...well I have yet to drive any car, and probably won't until spring. It'* nice to have a heads up on that now, anyways. I really am (at the moment) am steering towards the GA GT, but insurance may be a huge deciding factor.

Sol:
As one who has had the intake leak it is not inexpensive to fix. Cost us $700 on a 98 Montana van with 99K. The price ranges from $700 on up. A dealer will want close to $1000.00.

PJ: Any reason for not staying with a newer Bonneville? Has Michigan been too tough on your old Bonneville? I can understand that. Overall the Grand Am is a nice smaller car. My wife had one with 250K miles before it died in 98. I believe she had an 87 model.

See the thing is I love my bonne but it'* a bit big for my tastes and I can now afford a newer car, and this time around I would like something smaller. Michy is rough on any car, but it has been very well taken care of (it was my parent'* car before mine) so age considered, it is in excellent condition. You guys won't be losing the Bonne anyways, Logan (my brother) is taking it off my hands so you guys should still have it in your presence for some time to come.

PJ:
I understand. The Bonneville can be a big boat at times. At 72K the 94 is just broken in. LOL. Both the Grand Am and the Alero are nice cars. Just get one you can live with and best of luck deciding which to purchase.
