Well its a 1993 GA
We figured that the heater core would have to be dealt with... but what a pain to get to!! (or so my dad says... has to be changed from under the car...)
I could borrow a pyrometer from work and check it that way then. just seems weird that it seems to run cold... i would think that running hot is more common of a problem and it would be caused by pluged heater core... bad radiator... bad thermostat... but cold throws me for a loop.

You can clean the heater core IN THE CAR without removing it.
We're talking about restoring air flow through it (cleaning the gaps the air flows through), not cleaning the water passages inside the core.
