UNIONDALE, N.Y. (AP) -- Chris Simon might know by the end of the weekend just how costly revenge is.
The Islanders forward was slated to have a disciplinary hearing Saturday at the NHL office in New York to discuss the two-handed swing of his hockey stick to the head of Rangers center Ryan Hollweg.

That ended up being a pretty vicious hit, if he intended it to go that way or not.
He received a HUGE suspension for that, though.

I think the penalty on Simon was a little overly harsh. Ya, he took a swing, and should be punished, but when I see nonsense like the Cam Jannsen hit on Kaberle (after the play) that put Kabs out for the season and Jannsen gets 3 + match, things don't equate.
Lay down punishment for intent to injure and that punishment should = the amount of injury that your intent resulted in.
Hollweg got up and finished the game without a scratch, and Simon gets the season+playoffs for a swing. Doesn't add up to me.
