Sorry to hear about this. It'* tough loosing a pet.
Was the bird living in your home? Did she/he show any symptoms?
The reasons I ask that are because of carbon minoxide poisining. If this was not expected, you should consider having your home inspected for carbon minoxide levels, if you have forced air heating. My dad worked in HVAC his whole life. Whenever a homeowner had a pet die he would inspect the furnace for cracks in the heat exchanger. A crack in the HE will allow CM levels to rise. While the levels won't kill a human, they can kill a small pet very quickly. Over time the crack will expand and could poison a human to life threatening levels.

I'm sorry to hear of your losses. Our cat, Tigger, has gone missing too. My wife called animal control today to see if they picked him up and they told her that he was probably eaten by a coyote since they like to eat cats... a really sensitive jerk!

Thanks everybody.
Vital - She had been showing signs of getting sick. She was secreting mucus from her nose which was pretty nast and over the past few days she had become rather inactive. I did see her bouncing around last night, which is odd. She lived in the same cage as my cockatiels and they're fine as they usually are. I cleaned the cage out with almost boiling soap and water today.
Anyway, thanks everybody. At least the tiels are still around.

Sorry to hear that. We would miss our Harley and LeeLee when they die. LeeLee is older and has a lame foot, doesnt sing anymore but she will still fly around the house and give a mean bite when she gets PO'd.
They all have a unique personality don't they?

I'm sorry for your loss. I thought that this was going to be a joke that I heard before. I thought you were going to say your bird caught chirpies, a canarial disease that can't be tweeted.
After reading about your loss I wish it was just a joke for your sake. Sorry!!
