I only have a few things to fix up and then the Bonneville will back to usual self - creaking plastic interior and all. But then I have a decision to make. Does the Bonneville go, or does it stay? See, the problem is that I don't want to put any work into making it drive like I want it to, but I don't want to get rid of it just because I drive a boat car like an *******.
I think for the integrity of the car it would be better off in someone else'* hands, because the way I drive, I will break the car. This car was not meant to shift weight the way I make it.
I'm thinking, smaller, lighter, faster in the gearing. I'm also thinking, keep the Bonneville. Quit drifting like a damn idiot. Slow down in the turns and race a line.
Around here, drag is not as big as some wide-open areas where the roads are more straight. The backroads are great here. I like to take the car on the backroads and see what it can do. It does what I want it to. It also takes a good deal of suspension and alignment damage in the process. And I fix it. Seems kinda stupid doesn't it?

Sooo, if you want a drifter then get one. Dont expect much out of a 12 year old stock sedan.

buy a beat s13 and find an sr20 with like 500,000 miles on it. then youll have a 'drift car'

well there is a member that competes in a autoX, i have a suggestion, get a FE2 sways, and F41or lowering springs, you out handle every family sedan and quite a few sport cars too

From the way it sounds, no car will be able to put up with the abuse that you described for too long. Sounds like the Bonneville is holding up quite well, actually.

I don't think many of us here can honestly say we don't open her up when we can. You just hafta remember what the car was designed for. Bonne'* ain't intended whip around turns and stuff like the cars in the movies, but they do handle very well for thier size and limitations.

Well I pretty much decided at this point that I would try to do what I can with the Bonneville at least until the end of the year. No more timed runs until then. :cry:
But I figure I can do whatever work needs to be done on this car while I wait, and at least that way I can ask for a few hundred more when I sell it.
I would consider another Bonneville, but I think I will wait for that at least five more years, then I can start hunting down a GXP. :D
I'm going to look at a Mazdaspeed Protege today. I don't drive a stick, so a test drive is out of the question, but at least I can look at the interior and such. I am basically going to see if I even like the car at all. I have no intention of buying it off the lot, especially in my financial condition. Eventually I will learn to drive a stick.

If your runnin drags, Auto X and drifts, your running a stock car. You need to stiffen up the suspension, work on the tranny, give the engine a new Eaton SC , And a few other choice things if you want her to really scream....the car that is.

I don't intend to race this car at all anymore. I'm only worried about what a buyer would think of it, but I think I still honor the car by working on it to a point where someone else can enjoy it as much as I have.

All depends on your integrity bro. If you tell the person you sell it to you beat the livin snot outta hit, chances are they wont buy. Id say as still as it runs strong, no major problems, svae for the usual LOF stuff and maybe burnt out lightbulbs or somethin you shoot be good, but dont lie to the person. Esspecially if they are bigger than you
