Thinking about buying an old Tbird. All original low miles 60k and one owner since new. Here is the kicker hasn't been registered since 1980, and the last time it went around the block was 10 years ago. Hasn't been started in at least 5 years.

I have a few friends with classic T-Birds.
As long as it is not seized, You could probably have it up and running in a few days.
How does it look under the hood? Electrical all intact nothing munched on I hope.
I dont know how much they want for it but a fellow here recently bought a '56 for $6K and it was in running shape no rust.

I'd jump on that. Clean up what you can, and flip it.

Nice old T-Bird, I can see potential, I love the way it looks on the inside, I bet after a little TLC, and some money put into it, that will be one sweet ride.
Bring her back to life, do it!!!

the problem with t-bird is all the gadgets that didnt necessarily work when it was new, let alone with 40 to 50 years on the wires and vacuum lines

A lot of bell whistle on this old girl for sure. Most of it can be a pain if it is not working correctly. I put a battery in her and everything seems to work just fine. Low fuel light is ( and actually has low fuel). The seat belt reminder works.
I looked around for rust. It'* got rust, but nothing serious. The worst of it was in the trunk pan. There is a section by the gas filler neck about the size of my fist where the metal is very soft, but it seems to get hard pretty quickly. Maybe a patch panel can fix that.
Didn't get it home yet, but I hope to this weekend. It'* a barn find that is for sure.
